Solved: Random Pausing with YouTube Music on Phantom II via Bluetooth
#1
Hi everyone,

Just to share my experience on an issue with Bluetooth streaming.

Setup:
- Samsung S24
- Devialet Phantom II 98dB stereo
- Bluetooth (AAC codec, 16-bit/44.1kHz) from S24 to Phantom II
- KD-49X8000G Sony TV connected via 3.5mm mini-Toslink optical cable to one Phantom II.
- YouTube Music Premium (High Quality, 256kbps AAC) with Dolby Atmos enabled on S24

Issue:
YouTube Music keeps randomly pausing.

Root Cause:
I have both Toslink cable (from TV) and Bluetooth (from S24) connected to Phantom II. Signals were coming from both TV (via Toslink) and S24 (via Bluetooth), I suspect that it is causing YouTube Music to think Bluetooth connection was unstable, which caused pausing during the perceived dropouts.

Resolution:
I turned off automatic switching option in Devialet app.

Quality: YouTube Music Premium’s High Quality is lossy - CD quality at best.

Transmission: Bluetooth adds a layer of compression.

Dolby Atmos: from S24 and downmixed to stereo since Phantom II doesn’t support Atmos.

Devialet app: emphasize sound in equalizer

Sounds great to me! Thanks for reading and happy listening.
