The Linear Solution - Gone a bit wobbly?
#1
There have been a number of mentions on this forum about products from the relatively new company The Linear Solution.  I think they first appeared along side SOtM at a few shows with some nice looking modified routers and switches.  Since then there has been the odd post about the apparently fine sounding DS-1 Streamer / endpoint.  They also offer a very high spec and nice looking music server, or at least they do on their website.  So far so good, but last week I noticed this thread on AS:

If you don't have time to read though the thread per the link (there is a lot of it) it looks like products are being delivered with very poor quality construction, they do not appear to match the specification or appearance per what was offered on their website, and some "made in USA" products were delivered direct from China.  Some of the build quality issues are somewhere between dangerous to fraudulent.  I will be honest, I was keeping an eye out for reports and further information on the DS-1 streamer, I thought it looked like a very interesting product.  No longer though, the current situation looks very troubling.  I have linked their website below just for reference.  Some of the kit looks rather nice, but this does not seem representative of what has actually been delivered, according to the reports on AS at least.

I don't think I can find them all, but here are a few times that The Linear Solution products have been mentioned (including by myself) on this forum:

So if anyone was thinking of ordering something from The Linear Solution, I would engage a period of caution if I was you, this does not look good to me.

Some of those interior pictures are quite shocking -- hopefully not literally, but I wouldn't bet on that! What a sorry tale.
