Tonearm Tip
#1
Hi Folks,

Ever had a cartridge that is a bit too light for your arm, even with the counterweight right up against the bearing?
Plenty of headshell counterweights out there that will give you more wiggle room.
Homemade remedies such as blu-tack are great but if you want to add a gram or more to the headshell then it gets very ugly.

My fisherman friend came up with the ideal solution - Tungsten Putty!
This is moulded round hooks and lines to make them sink quicker - it is like a stiffer version of blu-tack impregnated with tungsten powder. As tungsten is much denser than even lead this makes its very heavy.

Attached is a picture of my headshell with a 1.3g blob of the putty. It's not as sticky or as soft as blu-tack but very easy to tear a bit off, weigh it and then mould it to your headshell.

£7.99 for 25g

If only it came in silver!

Kevin
