Tree and cables
#1
On the website for the Tree https://www.devialet.com/en-gb/phantom-s...ries/tree/ it shows under the FAQ:

DO THEY COME WITH ANY OTHER CABLES?

You’ll also receive an RJ45 and an optical cable.

I did not receive any cables other than the power cable, in both Tree boxes. On top of that, sitting the Phantoms on top of the Golds is an exercise in patience - I'm disappointed they're so difficult to fit and don't neatly click into place!

And finally, my delivery appears to have been broken up so I only got 1 of the Golds today, the other is stuck in Paris. Originally my order said "date invalid" and it didn't ship at all and I complained. AND the Gold I did receive has awful scuffs on the power cable, and a small scuff on the back:

Not a great experience thus far, for like £7k. Sad

You are experiencing the same thing any Tree user knows. The cable power is effectively the only one provided. Sitting the Phantom on the Tree top and plugging an optical cable are still a long and painful moment after years of practice, the latter being the most stressful !

Thank you! They should surely update the website then???

For the money I expected more.

Yes. I was disappointed by the build quality of the connectors. Fitting the Phantoms to the tree stand requires two people and some swearing if you want to hide the cables. The internal orientation requires you to route the optical first, then ethernet and then power connector last. No real instructions about this. Also, the connections for these at the base are super delicate. Each of mine broke simply trying to connect the cables. Had to glue them in place. Doesn't feel like quality. However, the sheer grandeur of the sound of a stern pair once they are properly set up makes up for it.

Glad to hear sound quality will make up for it! They look lovely in place too.

Devialet have confirmed optical and network cables are no longer included.

At least I only have to do this once. Smile
