Who will buy Astra

Given how Expert owner are treated, any owner of 250/1000 Pro is thinking to reinvest in Astra again?

Less they offer a trade-in/upgrade for 1000 Pro users with reasonable price, otherwise I wouldn’t consider to buy Astra at all.

The so called Evo platform, Core infinite… all these are not getting any real upgrade… none.. it’s not infinite… it’s very limited.. they don’t even upgrade the iOS app.

I am sure Devialet has to offer far more to long term owners of Expert Pro who made several investments based on their promises. So after many years getting neglected just saying „come on invest again“ won’t work. Especially as the company outlook is also not as stable as it has been.
But remains to be seen how Devialet is starting to handle this. They either take commitment and approach their valuable customers with something they really appreciate and are willing to build trust again.
Or it’s just sales claims again which won’t change things as the underlying problems are not addressed.

The 1000w rated for 1000Pro may be just same as Astra…. It might be over rated and now they less over rated it…. This is my guessing…

I think the real power can’t be less… more likely 1000 Pro just not properly rated or rated differently..

as a long term Expert Pro owner I wouldn’t buy the new one given how bad they treated Expert users… the platform advertised upgradable but it is not…. I used to recommend the brand now it’s very hard to recommend Devialet brand anymore.

the Expert range has been updated 2 times, something that most other brands are not doing at all.
So if the Astra will never get any update it is still the same as with most competitors...
But of course they could have designed the new mainboard in a way so that it fits into the Expert case as well.

Well it's a different story if you just sell an amp as it is (like the classic approach) or claim to be innovative and actively sell a future-proof platform (which CoreInfinity explicitly was) that owners invested into, and then were left where we are now. At least software wise there would be such a need - like a working mobile-app,online configurator, online music services etc.
And Devialet has to be aware that over the many years the competition (hardware & software) has increased too. If you just look at Lumin, Linn etc. how engaged they are with their software and long-term supporting devices.

Hopefully finally Devialet has realized that todays offerings need a solid hardware and software commitment and we will see where this leads to.

I am really speechless how desperately you are trying to convince yourself to believe that Devialet made an improvement here.

Expert 1000 Pro is significantly more powerful unit than Astra Dual. Please go and check the pictures that you can find in the internet and compare the specs. (There are less caps, power rating is almost half of Expert, 1000 Pro has a metal block bottom plate to cool the system, Astra doesn't have that!)

Even the power rating of Expert vs Astra from the power outlet is decreased. Please stop convincing yourself, Astra is not an upgrade over Expert, of course you can believe on whatever you would like to believe but when you write it publicly people come here and think that you have a point based on something. There is no point based on anything that shows or proves that Astra is equal or more powerful than 1000 Pro. The best possibility of Astra Dual is equal to a 440 Pro and only that's based on power, all other specs are worst.

I do not understand who will buy the Astra.

Devialet explored the market for this product type very thoroughly since 2011. Defined it, even.

They simultaneously delighted and frustrated their customers. Then left them behind.

So where are they going to find another 7000 people in this market who

1) don't already have their previous, superior product.
2) want to spend much more on an inferior product.
3) are willing to suspend disbelief that the company won't just repeat what they have done with the Expert.

the Expert range has been updated 2 times, something that most other brands are not doing at all.

why are you all expect the new Astra to be inferior to the Expert ?? Only because of some measurements and power output ? Still the Astra might sound better...
Lets wait for some comparisons from people who can be trusted (no magazines :>) )
