Good to know that is not the case and it should be “on” by default with no trigger cable. RE: config question for dual mono - mmorrison55 - 06-Feb-2024 Ok, that is what I am seeing as well. RE: config question for dual mono - chrisc - 29-Jul-2024 I found it made no difference whether the trigger cable was connected or not. They are connected RCA ro AES Sub out is on. Main speakers high-pass above 120Hz I only programmed a SD card for the Master, as a 440CI On power up, both displays have the same info And L and R speakers play as programmed RE: config question for dual mono - Pim - 29-Jul-2024 So no SD card in the slave? RE: config question for dual mono - chrisc - 30-Jul-2024 Yes, there is but I did not program it Would it be better to program the Master and Slave according to the options in the Configurator? Are you sure you don’t just have an old config on that SDcard? How would the slave know it’s a slave otherwise? RE: config question for dual mono - chrisc - 31-Jul-2024 Our resident country expert on Devialet products told me that if you program the Master as a Dual Mono 440Pro CI, then this will instruct the slave to act as one through data exchanged between the two amps He said that when the Dual Mono arrangement was first introduced, a trigger cable was necessary to wake up the slave. This action could be seen as there was a small delay when switching on the Master before the slave woke up With the revised program on a 440 Dual Mono. both amps switch on together. And there is no trigger connected, just the RCA to AES connection Of course in the next breath he asked me if I would not like to consider an upgrade and mentioned Mola Mola gear. He promised a substantial trade-in for the two amps What I dislike is the idea of spending a substantial sum of money on a supposed upgrade. I might not like it, then what? I'm re-working my setup atm so when I need to do another config, I'll give that a go. RE: config question for dual mono - chrisc - 07-Aug-2024 Found an anomoly with only the Master programmed: The balance control has no effect Re-doing the programming as a 440Pro Dual, then saving the two programs separately and loading Master and Companion (as Devialet call it) on their own SD cards, the balance operates I should have listened to you the first time. I have not had the occasion to need a balance control, but this was my way of checking everything RE: config question for dual mono - hardcore - 19-Sep-2024 (07-Aug-2024, 20:40)chrisc Wrote: Found an anomoly with only the Master programmed: The balance control has no effectJust curious how the old configuration (no companion configuration) could have worked. Wanted to check what speaker terminals are you connecting your speakers to on the Devialet? In dual-mono mode, the amps act as bridged mono-blocks, so you should connect the speaker cables to the red +L and +R terminals on the speaker outputs. And each amp needs to be configured to output either the Left or Right channel. |
