Best B&Ws for an Expert 440
#1
I was truly bowled over when I added a second 220 to my Sopra 2 set-up. The power impact was palpable and made for a great combo… but, upgradeitise is dangling B&W 800 series in front of me and it’s only a matter of time before I grab for them. TBF, I really like the Sopras but, well, you know. So, any happy B&W owners with experience of this combo much appreciated!

Using Dual mono Devialet with my B&W 802 D3 since 2016. Bought them together and at that time, it was a D400. In 2018, my D400 were upgraded to 440-Pro CI. To be honest, I had to work A LOT to make them work tonally the way I liked as am a classical music listener. And it has taken me a long, long time to arrive where I wanted to. I also tried 1000-Pro CI in my system but preferred 440-Pro that I found sweeter in tone. I've been using B&W 800-series since 1990.

You might also consider Focal's Utopia line. I have a 440 powering Focal Scala Utopias, and they're a perfect match.
