Hi,
now that all those home automation gadget seem to be the next big thing, I was thinking of use cases that would be handy, such as:
1. Start my D200
2. Set the input to music streaming (USB)
3. Play my favorite playlist on Tidal
All it takes at the moment is that apps like IFTTT or Tasker can "speak" with my D200 in terms of turning it on and changing the input source.
Do you guys know of ways on how to do it or is it just not possible?
Regards
Kian

Very, very far from easy, I'm afraid. Lots of problem layers. Devialet don't publish their TCP/IP control API, so IFTTT can't push any known commands to it. There's a tiny possibility that Devialet could create an Amazon Skill or an IFTTT recipe, but this would be a long way down their list.
The only viable avenue right now is RS232 serial control. I have a rudimentary system involving my Harmony Ultimate Remote, where I say "Alexa, turn on Computer", and my D120 turns on and switches to the correct input, then my Mac Mini starts playing its last playlist (via JRiver). I can also say "turn on TiVo", whereupon the D120 switches to another input. My lights all go down as well!
It's not 100% reliable though... there are Glitches in the Matrix, Neo.

hmm, that is actually not so good news but i like your workaround, as i also own a harmony remote
What do it need to get it working with my D200? how do i establish the "RS232 serial control"?

You need a USB-to-serial cable from a computer to the back of the Devialet, and then some Windows Batch Files to send serial commands. You then use the "ctrl+alt+1" combo from the "Windows Computer" device on the Harmony to trigger the batch file. (Note that you need the Harmony Hub with Bluetooth connection to the computer).
Like I said, there really is too much to it all to explain here!

I Understand the process but my skill Ends with the development Part: "some Windows batch Files".
Any links or guidelines you can give that can get me started with required batch files?

'fraid a bit of soldering is required! You have to buy a USB-serial cable, and then chop off the 9-way D-type and replace it with a 3.5 jack plug, as per the Devialet wiring diagram. Ensure the cable is "FTDI" standard (preferably by Prolific manufacturer).

Holy cow. Why did devialet even bother adding a trigger port.
I guess that all this is worth the trouble anyway. I will try to get the stuff incl. Soldering equipment.
