Mutec MC-3+ USB

I note that Axel said that Chris had emailed him saying:
"In Autumn/Winter our ultra-low noise 10 MHz reference clock will be released which helps to enhance the audiophile sound quality of the MC-3+USB and other e.g. DACs "

Does this mean our purchase is perhaps a little 'premature'?
I realise that buying electronic equipment is often a bit of a dilemma especially when you know there may be something in the pipeline that might be better round the corner! (topically highlighted by some O'dtA purchasers finding out about Le1000 afterwards!)  

Thoughts would be welcome...

The new Mutec '10 MHz reference clock' will be an add on products for the MC-3+USB, I think it is planned to be about 3000 Euros or so.

I used Cabledyne USB cable between microRendu and Mutec and Cabledyne AES cable to my D400 when I tested them in my system. Great cables for the price and outstanding to deal with, the sound is also really good.

The new clock looks rather good I think! Very good by the standards of Mutec kit, I like it! Not exactly a match for the MC3 though?

Since I will now need another AES cable (twix Mutec & Devialet), are there any good suggestions without going overboard cost-wise?

Current one on the CD player is an Audioquest Coffee.
Do the same again, or is there better for the price?

Since u already have an existing AES/EBU cable i.e. Audioquest Coffee, I suggest u hold on to the cable purchase and test it out using your existing one and see if u like the sound. There is no need to hurry.

One suggestion for performance cost competitive cable is DHLabs D-110. Even if you do not like it ultimately, it will not break your bank.

The fact sheet and faceplate say 'audiophile', yet the case and eight outputs scream pro use? I have to agree, a case matching the mc3's would have been the obvious choice. Wonder how much it is.

My guess is if they combined the two into a nice box and dropped a few led's, it would get a bit more home use interest.

MUTEC has arrived, albeit with a 'euro' plug (is this usual from MUTEC?), so will have to find a UK one. Borrowing one from another bit of kit for now...
Contorted my mind during a quick look at the manual - Jeez! Means not a lot to me!

First switch-on showed that the MUTEC was recognized by the Aurender (unexpected!) even with a message at top of Aurender screen telling me the MC-3 was attached! Cool!... but no sound...
Need to check AES input working via CD player first to be sure that the Dev is configured proper-like, as I have not used the CD player/Dev for Yonks! Been streaming mostly this year!

So, for those who have used one of these MUTEC's with Dev, I have the Aurender plugged into the Mutec via USB, and then from MUTEC to Dev via AES/EBU...

What do I need to configure on the MUTEC unit (if anything) and how, or does it auto recognize what's plugged in??

Any help would be appreciated. Can't wait to see/hear the effect of this unit...

I've just ordered a Mutec MC-3+USB, directly from Mutec in Berlin, which should be with me by next weekend. Really looking forward to connecting my QNAP NAS and Oppo BDP 105D to it.  I'm also going to order a DH Labs D110 AES/EBU cable to connect the Mutec and Le400.

I'm going to have to have a serious re-configuration of my rack to accommodate the Mutec.

One question: does the Mutec radiate much heat after it's been on for a good stretch?

To clarify concerns posted earlier that the Mutec requires special drivers even for Mac OS/Linux installations, with the consent of Mutec CEO,  Christian Peters, here's his response:

the MC-3+US requires only for Windows special drivers supplied on our website. When interconnecting it to MAC or Linux based computers, the MC-3+USB should work with them at once without the use of any driver. I cannot see a reason why your application should not work, presupposing the Melco keeps the Linux guidelines.

reading the response of your inquiry to Mutec, I suppose that you own a Melco? 
Did you buy the Mutec and can you say, if this all (Melco->USB->Mutec->AES/EBU->Devialet) works together?
