How does the Melco compared with your previous streamer and Aurender, in terms of sound quality?

Hi,

The AudioAanZee streamer I used in both of my systems, the Aurender was a step ahead compared to the AudioAanZee Streamer.
I have the same feeling now between AudioAanZee streamer and the Melco N1A, I have not listened to the Melco/Aurender next to each other.
(My second set is in Australia, while my main set is in the Netherlands)

I like the Melco, wide and deep soundstage, quiet background, overall a very Neutral sounding unit. (Aurender is giving me the same experience in my main set)

The Aurender has a very nice control app, and has a "better" build quality, but is also around 1300,- euro more expensive.

Does anyone have any news on the Melco app?

I am guessing not then Big Grin

I am now interested to hear what apps you Melco users are enjoying.
I only have an IPad and I think I have finally lost patience waiting for the Melco app. Its been imminent for a year now!

I have tried the Lumin and Arcam apps which are both better than Kinsky but I have had issues with both of them. The Arcam app quite often loses my 200 and I get dropouts with the Lumin app.

I may invest in a cheap android tablet as I believe the Bubble UPNP app is quite decent? ......although with my luck the Melco app will then suddenly arrive Big Grin
Is the Bubble app worth buying an Android tablet for? as this will be the tablets only use.
Any input would be appreciated.

I'm using BubbleUPnP on Android and I really can't complain, haven't had any real issues so far. Also it's quite responsive and looks nice. Even streaming from Tidal works fine. As of now, I don't really need the Melco app, I'm quite happy with BubbleUPnP.
The only thing that would make me change is, if the Melco started supporting Roon.

If you have an android phone running, I think, at least Android 4.x, download BubbleUPnP to that. If you haven't, buy a cheapo secondhand one and download to it. The small screen size doesn't materially impact on usability.
