Well, one thing that helped with my multiple Phantom purchases was what Wired called "... is what audiophiles call WAF: wife-acceptance factor." Starting to run wires would definitely set off a ripple in the social fabric... 🤷♂️
WAF is underestimated.
You could try just as a test to see if the dropouts disappear.
