After a very, very protracted wait and endless communication with Devialet, my Phantom is finally on it's way back to France. Unfortunately, the carrier service locally was less than optimal. Hopefully it wont be too long before I have a Phantom back in my house - this has been possibly one of the most frustrating interactions with a Tech company that I have ever had.
In the meantime, I bought used pair of Edifier S3000 Pro Bluetooth speakers; surprisingly good sound for the money.
Quick update:
I now have my fully repaired back from Devialet, it's been a long wait but they went above and beyond in carrying out a full repair - essentially it's a new speaker. I'd forgotten how great the sound is. Now I just need to find another matching glossy white Phantom 1 Classic 103db -----anyone selling one in New Zealand??
