Devialet offers an exceptional DAC and amplifier, and that’s exactly how I use it: I simply connect an external streamer—in my case a WiiM Pro—and get the best sound.
For this reason, buying a new Expert/Astra—which is most likely equivalent in audio quality and mainly differs on the streaming side—doesn’t really make sense for me.
If your point is getting an all-in-one then Astra is the solution that you was waiting for.
A week back at an Audio Show in my city, heard the Astra Dual Mono and to be honest, it didn't make sense to buy that setup at the asking price ... i.e. US$ 20k for the Silver Astra & $25k for the Gold version ... Dual Mono is $40k OR $50k for the Gold version.
