200 v 220 pro
#2
I tried to summarize some differences in the list below. Others might add or comment from their understanding.

Streaming Capabilities
  • Expert 200: Relies on Devialet AIR (proprietary protocol). Limited compatibility today with newer OS on Windows and Apple.
  • Expert 220 Pro: Adds better network handling but still somewhat restricted.
  • Expert 220 Pro CI: With the Core Infinity board, it supports modern streaming standards (Roon Ready, Spotify Connect, AirPlay, UPnP). This makes it much more versatile and it was promised by Devialet to be future-proof (no updates for several years now)

Sound Quality
  • All three use Devialet’s ADH (Analog Digital Hybrid) technology, combining Class A voltage control with Class D current delivery.
  • The 220 Pro and 220 Pro CI use the ADH2 generation, which offers lower distortion, better dynamics, and more transparency compared to the original 200.
  • The CI version doesn’t change the amplification but improves digital signal handling and stability.

Design
  • Expert 200: Classic Chrome finish.
  • Expert 220 Pro: Sleeker Chrome design?
  • Expert 220 Pro CI: Available in Chrome and Chrome Black, giving a more modern, understated look (depending on individual taste).
Roon Nucleus One, Roon lifetime, Qobuz Sublime+, OPPO BDP-103EU, Kanex Pro HDMI Audio Extractor, Dual CS 617Q, Devialet 220 PRO Core Infinity, Bowers&Wilkins 804 D2, Oppo HA2, Sennheiser HD 800S, Living Room, Enjoy Listening, Germany
