I'd be very interested to hear a 585 against a D400. It would feel a bit "old-skool" to me, though, I think.
I agree - it's not quite the same minimalist form factor as the Devialet and doesn't have any of the fancy stuff such as SAM, configurator etc.
However... it's twice the power (on paper I think!) as the ML383 and now includes a pretty decent DAC.
The other attraction has to be its single chassis.
I suppose it needs to be auditioned in familiar surroundings though.
