Yes, that's correct. I hook up my TV to the NAS to make the initial settings on JRiver and once that's done, I only need an iPad to control everything (NAS, Devialet and JRiver). I think they also do an Android app.
If you decide to try a Mutec, be aware that mine came on song after about 20 hours of use and Chris, the CEO recommended to leave it switched on for a couple of days. Since then I've left it on all the time.
It barely gives off any heat, so I don't think it's using much electricity.
Edit: I've just been looking at the technical data and the maximum power consumption is 10W
