You mean that process is going on in the Phantoms?
I could have overseen it, but where is it mentioned on the Devialet site?
So, on the bright side, this improves the sound a lot, on the down side it generates latency which is inevitable?
Well, i can bypass this problem by recording with headphones in critical situations, because my soundcard generates only 10ms latency.
But it is still a shame.
Thanks for the explanation though.

I did listen to White Phantoms at home this weekend. It is a very nice speaker, however it is not a time corrected design despite all the DSP power it has. Measurements I did (I use room correction) revealed that each drive unit's peak is visible in a step response. Disappointing considering all the R&D Devialet has put into the design, but not surprising when I think of my reaction listening to Phantoms earlier. This was demo room auditioning and I was not all that impressed with the size and precision of the sound stage. I have not listened to Golds yet. I hope time correction is improved here
In a different thread on this forum Devialet support is quoted to say that they are working on reducing latency. Devialet will try to get latency down to 20ms or less at some point in the future. This is easily fixed in firmware and will benefit all three Phantom models. Whether they will also look at time coherence between drivers is a different question.
