I thought the whole point of SAM was time coherence?  Well, that and bass extension, but in Phantom terms it would be odd if it weren't doing driver alignment as they own everything from DAC right through to the amps and drivers.

SAM does time and amplitude correction in the bass region the way I understand it. The bass from Phantoms is fabulous, but drivers are not time aligned. As you say, alignment ought to be there as they control every part of the design. The step response of the Kii Three is a good example of correct design. I've sent a report on this to Devialet.
