To be honest, I think this is a hit&miss thing. I was ready to cancel my order yesterday, after reading through all your posts, but somehow I didn't and happy with my decision.
The connection process is truly abysmal: in comparison with the airport, they look like a work in progress of the first prototype of its kind. You have to connect to Gemini L, and in turn the iPhone will do a pairing request with Gemini, and from here on it's a Russian roulette. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't...
However, having read the support page on Devialet's official website, after 4 tries I managed to get all of them updated. They work well, albeit I haven't tested them thoroughly yet.
The sound is very good for such a small form factor and their look and feel is premium, I am positive they will solve this through additional firmware upgrades (once you manage to install them).
I felt very much the same way at the beginning. I still love the sound, but I still keep my galaxy buds in my pocket when on calls as once I put these into daily use...that is when the connection issues and reliability showed up.
Meaning, once I start going back and forth between the chamber and calls, starting to have bluetooth issues, and connection issues.
Like my galaxy buds, those took a good 5-6 updates to get "rock solid". Hoping devialet does the same here.
Still don't get why they show up as 2 or sometimes 3 different devices instead of just one.
As long as I reboot my phone and connect 1 time to music...zero issues so far.
When I had 8 client calls on Monday, I would drop them back in the chamber after each call to 'charge'. Issues started pulling out of the chamber and connecting to bluetooth. Would get 1 ear, or intermittant sound. Had to switch to galaxy buds as one ear dropped to 0% for no reason (other ear was at 60%).
I've charged overnight twice, and had 0% in one ear in the morning. Doesn't make sense.
Anyway....I'm keeping them, and hoping for the best.
In the end, only a $300 investment.
