In my experience, the most obvious changes to a stereo system is having isolators or damperners underneath the speakers. In the past, I had used IsoAcoustics stands underneath my KEF LS50 and there was an immediate SQ improvement. Recently, I changed the IsoAcoustics stands to Norwegian's Soundcare Superspikes and I find this tweak is much better. I experienced a wider and bigger soundstage, hearing more details and clarities. Bass is not as firm as the IsoAcoustics stands but to an extent I prefer it more now.
