If you like Focal but want to not break the bank, you could look at the Aria line. Shares some of the kanta tech (flax cones) and has a nice upscale look with real leather and wood veneer. I would say the Aria line is their entry level into their more “upscale” lines. You should be able to buy their 936 or 948 new at your budget. The 948 may in fact be too much for your space, so you could get the 936 or even smaller 926 floor stand model, or their 906 bookshelf.
Of course if you went used, you could probably find their next higher level Electra model in your budget.
I like that the Focals are made completely in France, so it should be able to speak fluently with your devialet. ?
