Another system that - again - surprised me was the Cambridge Audio Edge series. A very nice engineer came to explain their design principles (very interesting) and the Edge streamer and power amp were connected to Spendor speakers. Source was the small Lumin streamer. The Cambridge Audio electronics are really nicely made and represent a huge value-for-money statement in the hi-fi world.
The Edge is a reference to Professor Gordon Edge, who passed away in 2013, and who set up the Gordon Edge Science and Technology Fund at Cambridge University. Previously he was the brains behind Cambridge Audio's early P40 amplifier and was one of the first people to buy the original D-Premier which resulted in my interest in the product.
