Taiko
#6
I would actually have considered it had it weighted less than 25 kg. My Mac Pro 2019 with 2 powerful GPUs weights 18kg and I cannot image why a server would need to be 2.5x times heavier. I cannot help but feel that the specs were designed to justify the price.

There was an extremely long, detailed, passionate and extremely positive review of the Taiko at computer audiophile a few months ago.

But fundamentally I think it’s way way overkill in pretty much every way and probably short on super accurate clock vs what the latest Jcat XE card can do. I am also not sure about win10 although the engineer who designed the Taiko claims he tried a dedicated Linux and could never make it sound as good. He is pretty isolated in this opinion.

The plan for my next source is to go in the exact opposite direction with a less is more approach.

Cheers,
Bernard
