The pop sound might be the sound of over excursion and then the speaker enters protect mode to avoid more harm to the hardware. I haven't encountered such a problem with my speakers, even at ungodly volumes. I'll try one of the soundtracks you mention to see if I can replicate the problem. Are you using Bluetooth, AirPlay or Toslink when the problem occurs? I believe you should have the speakers replaced by Devialet, there's definitely something wrong with them.
