New beta firmware 7.1.3 released
The only thing I notice between 7.1.1 and 7.1.3 is that the amp runs cooler (again).
My D-Premiers were regularly >50C, with 7.1.1 nearer 40C and with 7.1.3 <<40C
Devialet Original d'Atelier 44 Core, Job Pre/225, Goldmund PH2, Goldmund Reference/T3f /Ortofon A90, Goldmund Mimesis 36+ & Chord Blu, iMac/Air, Lynx Theta, Tune Audio Anima, Goldmund Epilog 1&2, REL Studio. Dialog, Silver Phantoms, Branch stands, copper cables (mainly).

And mine run at the same temps give and take 1-2 deg C.

But isn't this pretty much dependent on the average listening volumes?

Of course, but I hope it doesn't shock you that I made the comparison following similar length listening sessions at the same volume.
I have been making engineering evaluations for 45 years and whilst the professional ones would be more rigorous than this I would not completely abandon the obvious.

I am certainly noticing several degrees less, so around the mid-30s as opposed to early 40s.

Me too, at the same listening volume and time, though my temps are the same.
I also reported earlier that I do not really see a difference in volume settings and perceived listening level between 7.1.3 and 7.1.1 though people on this forum have reported 10 dB lower settings.

I will try to be more scientific next time I do this.

Wow, how can this be? Perhaps your D800's is running at better temps than my 'harder' working, at half power, D400?

I start to feel that my units have some issues as I; 1/Does not have lower temps with 7.1.3, 2/Do not experience the volume hike in same setting as with 7.1.1 OR is it just that em Raidho are so inefficient they need loads of power?

In two or three days there will be 8.0 firmware...

Let's summarize our inpressions about sound quality of 7.1.3 beta...

Two weeks ago I installed 7.1.3 beta. Every day since this moment is just a pure joy. Listening music with Devialet 200 gives me now great pleasure. Mids are just perfect. Voices are splendid. Sometimes I can hear more edgy high tones but thanks of used cables (coaxial - VDH First Ultimate and Kondo SPc - speakers) this is not a problem. But I can imagine without a problem a lot of problems with high tones in bright systems or systems with very very transparent cables.

In my system I can hear now much more details than with 7.1.1. All sound is more musical, more natural and more direct. Directness of music is just amazing. It also seems that music is faster in reaching me...

What are Your final thougts after two weeks with 7.1.3 beta?

For me this is just the biggest upgrade in sound quality in 14 months of using my Devialet 200.

All the best for all happy users of 7.1.3:-)

Biggest 'stereo' jump for me was when I updated my 170 to 200 otherwise going mono had the biggest impact.

8.0 two nights away...
