wow that sucks.. i just googled your speakers and they arent one of those "out there" speakers looks wise.
there isnt a lot you can do in respect to cleaning up the sound. if you arent allowed speakers you certainly wouldnt be allowed any acoustic treatments on the walls... and is a rug on the floor between the speakers and the listening position out of the question?
