I am new to this but believe the range of 0-20000 is in micro seconds.
If the SW is located 9 feet closer to your listening position than your main speakers, then you will need to delay the output of the SW by 9 milli-seconds (= 9000 micro seconds) to correct the timing between the mains, sw, and listening position.
