Sound differences between Devialet 200 and Devialet 250

Are you saying that one should expect little difference between the D250 and the D200, (recognizing perhaps the only difference is the 12.5% power increase)?

I was under the impression, moving to a D250 was an demonstrable audio upgrade from D200.

My new D250 is waiting at home for my return from my business trip. Is it incorrect to be expecting something different in what I have been enjoying from my D200? Has the upgrade been for naught but another fools search for the audiophile holy grail?

If you have a D250 waiting at home, the simple answer to this one is that you will find out for yourself soon!  It should be remembered that although the electronics are the same, the case is very different and offers superior cooling characteristics.  Because of this, the software controlling the electronics is different.  I doubt you will be disappointed, but you will be able to hear for yourself soon!

In my own system I was able to hear very clear differences between the 200 and 250 (at the time 170 and 240) but I think this will be largely speaker dependent. At the time I had the Wilson Sophia 3s. Indeed I have heard of some people not hearing much of a difference when comparing both and settling for the 200. No doubt cost is also a factor, and perhaps future ambitions too since with the 250 you are half way to the mighty 800!

Otherwise it's the same DAC and the electronics are identical.

I would say there is a bigger difference going dual mono.
