Increasing my Wifi signal

womaz, you will probably get better value for money by buying a proper wireless access point that mounts on the ceiling/in a cupboard over a new router. that way you can position it for best effect.

Sounds interesting. is this not what I looked at , a wifi extender, is it the same thing? I looked at a wifi extender from BT at about £50, but reviews were not good and stated that the wifi in the house automatically then reverted to a slower overall broadband speed.

they are very very different.

You actually disable the routers wifi and solely use this device.

However im not sure if its been asked.. but can you list your laptops brand and model number?

The laptop is a Lenovo Z50. It is only about 8 months old. If I do as you suggest will I just not be creating other possible issues by disabling the routers wifi? Like there are other rooms I like to have assess on. Would I need a device for each room? Also as i am not very technical I may struggle with all of this. My router is not overly used, I live in my own at present and my daughter is here at weekends. there are not massive demands on it.
I have gave up on AIR now so it may be my best best to get the Melco working as then i wont need to look at this
