I agree, to get the best understanding we'd need some clarification of Devialet or an independant industry veteran/DSP specialist. Smile

You can't bypass the two internal PCM1792 chips BTW, they're the DAC chips converting the digital to analog just before the the speaker terminals. What we possibly could bypass/prevent are unnecessary sample rate/freq. conversions whether inside an internal FPGA or (A)SRC chip. I've wondered myself often as well if I were to use a player like HQPlayer what output format would be optimal, I'm also -guessing- this to be 24/192.
