Cold sound

Hi TDA,

I have been following your post with great interest, as I have experienced the same frustration with cold/overly bright sound and ss's.
I have the same speakers as you have, the Audiovector SR6 AA, and a McInstosh setup (C50 preamp and Mc452 poweramp). It sounds absolutely boring and way too bright. I have had the McIntosh gear in the US for check/service, and nothing was found. I have spend 4 years doing "burn in", and nothing has helped. I have upgraded power cables, interconnects, speaker cables, everything... nothing helps.

So a scary thought popped up when I read your post. What if it is the speakers, not the audio equipment that is configurated way to bright with no punch?

Have you tried with other speakers?

Are there any other Audiovector SR6 useres out there that can share their experience with the speakers.

The thought has crossed my mind and I have talked with Audiovector. A technician from HQ will come and visit me next week to eliminate that it is the speakers. He will help me with positioning and room acoustics. He had no knowledge of dev but knows how the speakers should sound. So I am looking forward to that. If I still don't like it then maybe it's the speakers

But maybe it's my room acoustics also. I will find out.

Maybe it's time to buy my next speakers then.. The SF Amati futuras...I Have been thinking about these for a couple of days now.. They would be great with your macs
