I can only give you my experience with Si3 Avantgarde Arretes and the tweeter can be problematic. It did take a long time to bed in, or possibly for my ears to become accustomed to it. I seem to remember thinking it was ear-bleedingly sharp initially, pretty much unlistenable. After a year or so I was loaned some Chord Sarum jumper cables to replace the connection strips on the speaker terminals and these had a pretty positive effect and did reduce the brightness a little, though mainly gave a greater sense of air to the sound. I had already decided to sell the speakers at this stage, not for a particular hatred of the bright sound but because I heard something else and happened to like them a lot! I did like the Audiovectors very much and bought them after much comparison with other speakers.
I don't have great high frequency hearing so might not have been so sensitive to it with the Audiovectors. I find I had the opposite problem with my Raidhos now - I'd like a little more high frequency info if anything.
