I wondered about the battery life a bit and, not knowing much about how much a display uses, came up with this solution; Use a simple black and white LCD like you have in your watch and display whichever changes are made whilst the changes are made. Then have the display on for 5 more seconds and turn it off. Surely if we have to change batteries every 6 months or so, no-one would complain.
