I bought my D-Premiers only a few months ago, and the person before me off course hadn't taken the previous upgrade option (having a pair of D-Premiers upgraded to a D800 was an additional 70% the price of a single D250 unit upgrade).
Now a new upgrade is coming up, but to then restrict these only to those that upgraded their previous D-Premiers (at that time) wouldn't make sense (to myself) from a commercial perspective. I can fully understand others who have previously upgraded may seem a bit miffed that they could be paying the same to upgrade as a D-Premier owner, but that's not really the fault of the D-Premier owner (e.g. me).
There may not be so many D-Premiers still kicking around that hadn't been previously upgraded, and from Devialet's perspective the remaining number of D-Premier owners may be of so small a quantity that they won't have any specific restrictions on who can upgrade. I just can't see Devialet not allowing a D-Premier to be upgraded if it's physically possible to do so (same casing and remote as existing D250, as far as I'm aware), and therefore not taking the money from a D-Premier owner.
Saying all of the above, when I went to the upgrade link as shown on page 39 it did have the D-Premier in the drop down box for existing equipment (it still does have this option), so I'm hopeful that I do get the choice for the latest upgrade.
Sorry to those who feel they are being hard done by if existing D-Premier owners are allowed to also have this new upgrade, but I can't see Devialet rejecting money based on other peoples feeling (they certainly haven't got a great track record with PR to-date, so can't see it starting now).
Hopefully everyone will find out soon the upgrade options and costing, and it may be a tiered upgrade cost dependant on what equipment is being upgraded; D-Premier, D120, D200, D250, D800 or OdA.
