It would make sense for the streamer board to work in older models too, as Devialet could then sell it to those owners unwilling to updates their Devs, and make money! (or maybe they'll hold off on this in the hope that it'll drive people to update their Experts to Pros?).
I'm also wondering how they're going to manage updates to the streamer board though - whether there will be some communication between the board and the firmware on the FPGA (which might require a different architecture to what we have in the current Expert range) or whether the streamer board will be autonomous from the rest of the architecture - for instance its built-in OS self-updating from the internet.
