Aurender should be good - I had the X100 and S10 for extended demos on my system - felt they were very good (great app) but not worth the dosh over Mac n Dac, especially now with the relatively stable AIR3/ROON combo doing so well.(05-Aug-2016, 14:42)KIBM Wrote: Lucky man! This one could be tricky .... Demo will be with an Aurender N10 and I do not have any Diana Krall on vinyl. I might be wrong, but I suspect the D800 and 1000 Pro have the same phono stage? It does occur to me it might be interesting to get a config card set for a low output MC, and do a 'hiss test'. I wonder if this is improved on the later models?
Requests? mmm...
How about - Phono stage noise/sensitivity; top end under strain e.g. with a bright recording; clarity at low level; bass grip/slam; 'magic' e.g. can it make Diana Krall a good singer? Blades should be good to test all that as they go pretty deep and image really well (only heard them at a show).
Enjoy

Have a good day.

ps I do not have, nor will I allow any Diana Krall in my house! At one time that was all you would hear at shows and demos - she sounds as if she has only got one note - maybe I'm tone deaf but I just don't get her popularity (total babe though!)
