Devialet into other power amps?

I am using the preamp function of my D250 but filtered for lowpass (200Hz) for a woofer specific amp. This mono amps are presently based on DIY based Anaview modules which sound much better as the Kharma MP150s which I used before and work quite good for their purpose. But I also tested these amps full range using the preamp function and there was no question at all which sounds better: D250 full range.
Personally I would not consider any expert amp as only a DAC/preamp. I think one needs to compare a dac + amp to a any expert.
