I use the original linking plates rather than jumpers, but I get similar levels of impact with the facts. Diagonal is the most balanced and also kinder tweeter sound, whereas just to bass gives a little more bass. Im sure this is a crossover inefficiency, but its useful. Going into the treble posts only is far too bright for me. Diagonal is borderline bright, but using bass only makes the tweeter a little muffled (although is a much better bass-treble balance).
Of course since I tightened my LF drivers the balance is better anyway, but the above still stands.
