I remember reading about someone else who had an issue with the PEM/ferrite hum/whirring and was able to get it replaced.
The problem for me is I didn't know that all units were different until I had my companion which was silent.
It's a big ask for me to live with it considering devialet can solve the problem and they have my unit at the moment and are saying there is no problem.
It's one thing if all units make a sound and they just said that to me, but they say they can't even hear anything.
I can hear it across the room!
Were you able to hear the recording of the sound I posted?
It seems like they are eager to take my money and claim to give a 5 year guarantee but if something actually goes wrong/isn't right, they aren't too eager to sort the issue out.

As for the finish of the cases, that has further enraged me knowing that your 170 has a perfect finish and goes against their reply of:
The casing is in our standards for the associated year of production
Does that mean their quality control over the years is getting worse as sales increase?

Can anyone else comment on the finish of their units?
My dealer also told me that it was a B grade finish.

I'm a little disgusted that I have to put so much time and energy into communicating with devialet about the same thing over and over, only for them to say there are no issues even though I have provided photographic/visual and aural evidence.
