That would make an interesting read , especially if you have the uograded cubox-i4 quad core for the Totaldac server as the reference baseline. Looking forward to your thoughts.
I haven't upgraded to the quad core cubox yet since I am waiting for the software for iPeng 8 to be ready, at the moment the new quad core firmware only works with MPaD, so no online streaming services yet.
Something I want to experiment with, which I didn't get a chance to do last time round, is using the Melco to feed the d1 server. In that scenario the Melco basically replaces my NAS and LAN setup. Upgrading my current NAS to a fanless QNAP with SSDs and decent power supply (which Vincent at totaldac recommends) gets me into N1A territory, price-wise.
