OK some success, despite Devialet!
The 'receive config file via email' service it not working at present, whether it ever will is unclear. I will follow up.
I did however have success getting a config file on an SD via wifi using one of these

And the D400 read SD card OK.
I have some spare SD cards so will create a few different scenarios and keep them config files n them, and I have all previous iniCloud so accessible via IPAD on to Verbatim device.
