"Audiophile Grade" Ethernet Switches - The new generation

It runs hot and I mean really hot, I plan to mount it on the wall of my cabinet where all my network stuff is located and that is cooled by a 120mm fan. The need for good ventilation is a must in my opinion.

Congrats on receiving the ER! I too have it in my system now connected like pictured in the diagram I posted earlier so fiber to the ER and copper to my music server. Both on the A side and then the NUC endpoint connected to the B side. I power it @9V from the Hynes SR4. It does indeed become quite warm but here I wouldn’t call it hot but it’s on a bottom shelf and well ventilated. I’ll let it sit active for a while before doing some real listening, maybe this weekend.

Enjoy!  Smile

I believe Devialet has introduced a reclocker on the CI. The AES/EBU (and SPDIF) input is also routed through the reclocker. That is one of the reasons amps with CI sounds better. Good luck with ER testing!

Thanks!
There’s new asynchronous sample rate converters (ASRC) on the CI board which I guess you could reclocking. Devialet has never really shared with us (not in detail or writing that is) the steps an incoming signal goes through but we do know all signals are upsampled. I do remember Devialet has mentioned on one of the visits to a UK dealer that there’s improved clocks on the CI module as well. This all, probably with an improved design of the board, indeed probably accounts for the better SQ which I also noticed when I got my D back with the CI board.

Looks like you’re ‘in luck’ with Confused and David A having bought an ER as well and them using or testing it with AIR/Roon AIR RAAT.  Smile
