But we know a 220 can handle going up to a 440 in dual mono. The 130/140 case is the same as the 220, so unless the components are different/poorer, then you'd assume they could easily go from 140 to 280 in dual mono in that chassis. There has been plenty of discussion about the 250 being able to go to 1000 because of the more advanced case/heatsink etc, so that's a different scenario. But I'm sure all will become clear soon enough. Doesn't affect me, am more curious as to their logic since it couldn't be more confusing - especially for anyone considering the brand for the first time.

Selfishly all I really hope is they work out getting the power of the 250 up!

As I understand it the current range works as follows.
130 voltage limited
220 thermal limited
250 voltage limited
440 thermal limited
1000 voltage limited

It's possible the power supply is a factor in the 130 and 440.

It seems the voltage is fixed by the ADH and cannot be adjusted upwards by firmware. The thermal limits can be improved by efficiency gains in software, or that's how it was explained before when the 170 went up. Who knows if that's going to be possible ever again.
