I look forward too hear about What you find out , Steve.I have the Ortofon ST-80 SE, which is great, and I also don't hear anything with normal listening volumes, but it does exist if you go to higher volumes. As far as why a phonostage, it's my understanding that it will be much quieter. As for tubes, I've always had a romance for tubes and the phonostage is really the only component where I would be able to get them. Apparently the Allnic pairs well with the LP12, but I'd love to hear about others.
