I own a pair of B1 Decade speakers and received with them a small bottle of paint. One may use very fine sandpaper to even out any scratches and then apply the paint. It won't be perfect but it'll be better. I've successfully communicated with one of the owners of Vivid in South Africa to make inquiries about repairs and other matters. As to your SQ question, I've never heard the original B1s nor the K1s, so can't help there.
