I have a small number of SACD's. I play these using a Pioneer "Universal" disc player. Basically a mid-market Blueray player that will play SACD's amongst other things. Although this offers a pure digital from end, the player converts Bitstream to PCM digital output, effectively converting the DSD to 24bit. It actually sounds pretty good considering this is a very cheap player relative to the rest of the system. Unless someone can prove me wrong on this, because the Devialet's internal architecture features 24/192 digital processing, then any method of playing DSD will be compromised to a degree? Having said that, considering 24/192 is such high resolution, if the conversion is done well, I'm not sure that this actually matters to much?
