Is the Devialet bad at low volumes?

Mine are fine at low volume.
Don't forget that your ear's frequency sensitivity varies with loudness, so unless you listen at the same volume as the recording engineer who mixed it, you will not be listening to the same frequency response as he/she was either, but that is the case with any amp.

Back in the day there were amps with an attempt at compensation built in, in as much as their frequency response varied with volume control setting, but since there is no way to know at which volume to make the FR flat this was not satisfactory.
