Hi amabrok I'd need to try and source one since none of my friendly dealers stock Aurender.

Guillaume

Bring your TotalDac and come to Dubai

I have no experience with Tidal, but my audiophile friends in the Netherlands report that it sounds not as good as their locally stored 16/44 FLAC files. I use Qobuz, and to my ears, the sound quality is really good. I hear no difference between Qobuz and locally stored FLAC files. I certainly don't experience any lack of liveliness (reported on Tidal by ears I trust).

That is then a good point of the Auralic Aries....... the Auralic Lightning DS app has Qobus integrated already.

Wow that is really good to know Eric. Thanks!

I have Qobuz in Ipeng so will give that a go too and report back. I actually quite like the idea of Qobuz Sublime since I tend to buy quite a lot of 24bit material. Would pay for itself or certainly subsidise some of my online purchases.

Cheers

I concur. I tried both Qobuz and Tidal on my Macbook plus Air WiFi and for my ears Qobuz sounds better. Also Tidal suffers from more drop outs.

Amgad - thanks for posting this thread and conducting a detailed analysis. For a beginner like me its almost "Audiophile" orgasam to read the whole thread.

When I switched from streaming TIDAL via AIR to the Antipodes the dropouts stopped. Consequently I wonder how much of the dropout problem is TIDAL and how much is the streaming method. TIDAL sounds very good to me through the Antipodes, but I can't get Qobuz in the US.

AaronG, this is interesting. I always thought that it is a Tidal issue. Also it could be that streaming is better in the US. Location plays a major role in streaming I suppose.

It certainly does! But in this case the Ickstream TIDAL app streams flawlessly in the same location that the TIDAL web app does not.

Web app is miserable. Desktop app is slow and the best relatively speaking is the mobile app. And all of that proves your point in a way
