Nothing Like that.
Roon - Also has control. [ Example - Roon installed on MacBook, you can also use MacBook to browse stream music, you can also use iPad/Android phone or tablet to control Roon on MacBook]
RoonServer - Head less usage [Example - RoonServer installed on MacBook, you can control it on iPad/Android Phone or tablet]
And @baddog is right. However I have tested both and did not find issues for my small music database is concerned.

Hi - did a full uninstall, rebooted, ran Cleanmymac, rebooted, installed Air 3.
Worked a treat. Thanks for your help.

Not that I have issues but how do you remove apps from opening during cold wake up of MacBook? Each time I start MacBook Outlook starts and few other apss starts. Not that I have issues I simply close them and start Roon-ing, however it would be good if i can turn those apps OFF during power-on.

If you launch CCleaner and select Tools->Startup it will show you all the items/tasks that start when you cold boot your Mac.
You can choose either disable or uninstall these items.
I have attached a screenshot example.

Hello AIR3 user reporting in!
Having used it for quite a while now I can report no issues, once every couple of days I will get a microsecond ( less than a second ) drop out during playback. This happens randomly, is not white noise, is very brief, and is not related only to 24/192 content as it has happened with Tidal streaming as well. And I do mean both very very brief drop out and no more than once a listening session and not every day.

Upon reading some of the suggestions here, I now have AIR3 running flawlessly over ethernet, sourced from a Mac Mini 2012 running El Capitan & RoonBridge. Selected max hardware & power of 2 buffers in Roon and did some minor OS optimisation (disable Spotlight, iTunes helper, startup items). No issues so far and sounds great.

I have no problem playing up to 24/96. As for 24/192 it will definitely caused crackles. DSD64 converted to 176.2 PCM will also result in crackling. May I know your Mac configurations: Model, CPU and RAM size.
