Do you have Roon set to Exclusive mode on the MacBook? I have not gotten any sound when Exclusive mode is enabled.

Agreed... Exclusive is not working, so you are limeted in bitrate... If they fix this I will go back to Roon... Maybe it's a proprietary thing from Apple

That's correct. Win10 can use Exclusive and event driven mode for bit perfect playback on Roon. Apple can't.

Sorry to bang on about it, but for anyone experiencing issues with AIR/exclusive mode and Roon, please make sure you echo your experience to Devialet support.
It's one thing to ignore calls for RoonReady to be implemented into our Devialet's, but its quite another to not be proactive in helping Roon resolve issues with their proprietary streaming software.  Devialet should build a relationship with companies so that they can resolve such issues. Beyond providing technical assistance on specifics like this AIR issue, Roon also has a "Roon Tested' program where manufacturers supply a piece of hardware and they build a relationship for testing to make sure issues like these get ironed out.  I'd suggest (to anyone having issues) passing that on to Devialet in the meantime.

Well, I agreed and have contributed by sending them a request to look into RoonReady program. But, I doubt they will listen. At the same time, I have found my own 'working' AIR solution.

I dont believe its a proprietary thing from Apple - its a proprietary thing from Devialet. The Roon guys have clearly stated there is some conflict with the Mac version of AIR in exclusive mode, but without the help of Devialet there's very little they can do to debug it. Devialet don't provide any specs/documentation for AIR or the utility (unsurprisingly, otherwise everyone would be scrambling to copy it, desperate to get AIR streaming into their products….. ), don't seem willing to cooperate, and don't provide any equipment for Roon to test and try and find a workaround.

For what its worth, although non-exclusive mode isn't ideal, I wouldn't have thought it would restrict bitrate?

I have sent support request from my side to Devialet. I m expecting some Political response. But will continue to nag to be open for other ideas in industry will take them long way sort of. Hope Devialet gets it.
